Refiners Fire

Ezekiel 22:17-22

And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 18. Son of man, the house of Israel is to me become dross: all they are brass, and tin, and iron, and lead, in the midst of the furnace; they are even the dross of silver. 19. Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because ye are all become dross, behold, therefore I will gather you into the midst of Jerusalem. 20. As they gather silver, and brass, and iron, and lead, and tin, into the midst of the furnace, to blow the Fire upon it, to melt it; so will I gather you in mine anger and in my fury, and I will leave you there, and melt you. 21. Yea, I will gather you, and blow upon you in the Fire of my wrath, and ye shall be melted in the midst thereof. 22. As silver is melted in the midst of the furnace, so shall ye be melted in the midst thereof; and ye shall know that I the LORD have poured out my fury upon you.

In Ezekiel 22, we see that many of the sins of Israel are still in America today. We see how in Israel, the wrath of God fell upon the people and how the Lord was purging them and exposing their sin. Now today, we can see how many other countries have followed the same evil way. We can all see how the hand of God is doing the same thing today as He did in the past. God is exposing the sins of the nations. Many people who once followed the Lord have now turned their backs on the Creator of the universe and now face the same judgment.

They (Israel) made a conspiracy of the prophets by stealing the treasures of the Temple and devouring souls, falsely prophesying.

They (Israel priesthood) had violated the laws of God and profaned the Holy things. They showed no difference between clean and unclean and hid their eyes from sabbaths. The Lord was profaned before them. The princes are like wolves ravening to prey, shed blood, and destroy souls to get dishonest gain.

There was dishonest gain and robbery from the poor and needy. The strangers were included. In Ezekiel 22:31, we see how the Lord had had enough and consumed them all with His fire and wrath. The Scripture comes to memory that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. May we all have that fear and walk before the Lord in truth and holiness before the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
